A Celebration of Canada’s 150th Birthday

We are combining our Heritage Day event with the Stayner Chamber of Commerce to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday – taking place on July 1st, 2017. This year’s celebration promises to be bigger, better, and at a new location. All activities will take place inside at the Stayner Community Centre.

The Scouts are hosting a pancake breakfast following the Duntroon-Stayner road race. Our annual parade will form up on Huron Street (near the Gazebo) at 10:30am and march to the arena. Display’s will be set up on the Arena floor. Food venues such as “Friends Pub” and “pies” sponsored by the Door will be available in the lobby and community hall. Following the opening ceremonies, our entertainment will begin. We are pleased to have Naomi Bristow as our headliner, as well as the Beinn Gorm Highlanders, Jim Kinnear, Clearview Theatre’s Ukulele Group. The Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring a wonderful afternoon of children’s’ activities featuring illusionist Sawyer Bullock, miniature golf course, stilt walker, bouncy castle and many other games. Other activities will include “Heritage Society displays, vendors, new vehicles and classic cars” as well as a silent auction.

We look forward to a fantastic day as our Community comes together to celebration this milestone in Canada’s history.
